Piano Recital

Last weekend Emma and Chad performed at their annual piano recital. Karen Fishback has been teaching them for about 6 months now. Emma performed Jingle Bells and Love Somebody and Chad played The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. They both did amazing. Emma was confident and poised while Chad played with his usual strength and talent. It was also fun seeing the other students (many of our friend's kids) perform their selections. How I wish Evan still played....

Cate's Birthday

Cate turned 4 on Novemeber 21st! We had a party for her last weekend. She wanted a "flower" party so our friend Laurice (yoursweetmoments.com) made her this beautiful flower cake. Unfortunately, fires broke out on the day of her party so many, well almost all, of our guests couldn't come. Thankfully we have such dear friends right here in Corona that they just hopped on over and we had a great party. Karli, Roger, John, Oliver and Elliot were able to make it up from San Diego so she had some of her family here. We had a baked potato bar with all the fixings and lots of cake and ice cream. She loved her ballet leotard and tutu as well as this groovin' peace tee from Aunt Karli. I can't believe my baby is 4!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and takes a moment to reflect on all the amazing blessings we have in our lives.

Palm Springs Swim Meet

Well, this weekend was really fun! We went to Palm Springs for a swim meet and had such a great time. The boys swam lots of races but the highlights were their 500 yd. (20 laps). Evan's 500 was a 5:48 and Chad's was a 6:12. Evan's 100 free was 58 seconds and Chad's was a 1:06. Emma didn't swim in this meet because it was what is considered a "distance" meet and she is not quite ready for that. This picture is from a couple of weeks ago though.

Little Sister Urges Me to Blog

Ok, Karli convinced me to try this. I hardly have time to write a grocery list so keeping a blog updated seems impossible. But with oatmeal cooking on the stove, Evan at school, Curious George blasting in the living room and the homeschooler doing math upstairs, I will attempt a first BLOG!! Today is Halloween and tonight we will get dressed up - AGAIN! We already "did" Halloween on Tuesday night at church and then the girls dressed up again on Wednesday for our Joy of Butterflies group, and now again tonight...and then tomorrow with the swim team. Makeup, curling hair, straw for the scarecrow...fun fun! Oh, and then the TON of candy 4 kids score from this holiday that has become a weeklong celebration. Plus, in 3rd grade it was down to me and another boy during a spelling bee and I didn't spell Halloween with a capital "H" so I lost. I never liked Halloween after that.
